Getting Started
Working With Us
What makes TrueHaven Capital different?
Most firms want to replace your current advisor and take over everything. We don’t operate that way. We’re built to come alongside what you already have, find what’s being missed, and fill those gaps — whether that’s tax strategy, planning, or investment structure. And if it makes the most sense for your situation, we’re glad to step in and manage everything under one roof. If we can’t show you clear, meaningful improvement in our first conversation, we’ll tell you that honestly and help you find someone who can.
How do you charge for your services?
As an independent RIA, we are fee-only. That means no commissions, no product sales, no kickbacks — nothing that creates a conflict between our interests and yours. Because we aren’t tied to any products or platforms, we have full flexibility to recommend what’s actually best for your financial situation. Fees are structured based on your needs: flat fee, hourly, or AUM. We’re straightforward about cost and hold ourselves accountable to delivering value that justifies it.
What’s the first step to getting started?
A no-obligation conversation. We want to understand where you are, where you’re trying to go, and what’s standing in the way. From there, we’ll give you an honest assessment of how we can help — and what that would look like in practice.
Is there a long-term commitment?
No contracts, no lock-ins. We work month-to-month because we’d rather earn your trust over time than require it upfront. If your circumstances change, we’ll work with you on it — and if you ever need to step back, there’s no penalty for that.
Planning & Strategy
Tax, Investments & Your Financial Picture
Can you help me lower my tax burden?
Tax optimization is one of the highest-leverage areas of financial planning, and most people are leaving real money on the table without realizing it. We take a comprehensive approach — analyzing income, investments, business structure, and timing — to build a strategy that is proactive rather than reactive.
Do I have to transfer my accounts to work with you?
No. We work with what you have. Some clients have us manage everything, others just want planning and strategy while keeping their existing accounts in place. We’re flexible because every situation is different.
How do planning, taxes, and investments connect?
They have to work together to work well. A strong investment return can be undermined by a poor tax strategy. A solid plan falls apart if cash flow isn’t accounted for. Each piece of your financial life has a direct effect on the others, and we treat it that way.
How much of my time does this take?
We’ve built our process to be as low-friction as possible. You shouldn’t have to become a part-time financial analyst to benefit from good advice. Most clients are involved less than 30 minutes a week once we’re up and running.
Faith & Values
Our Convictions
What does it mean that TrueHaven is a faith-based firm?
We believe wealth is a stewardship responsibility, not an end in itself. Scripture is clear that everything we have belongs to God (Psalm 24:1), and our role is to help you manage it faithfully — with wisdom, generosity, and long-term perspective. That shapes how we advise, not just what we advise.
